Which area should I consider for attending school? πŸ€”

1. Consider Proximity to Campus: Identify areas that are close to the campus. Consider the convenience of commuting and explore neighborhoods within a reasonable distance to minimize travel time.

2. Utilize the University's zip code to navigate Zillow:
I allowed Zillow to send me email updates whenever new or available properties within my school's zip code became available. One day I woke up and saw an apartment I was interested in, I quickly called the property manager and I became the first person to apply. I placed a deposit and secured an apartment in a location that is both safe and affordable. Plan ahead and start early.

3. Budget Planning: Assess your budget for living expenses, including rent, utilities, transportation, food, gym, wifi costs. Determine a realistic budget to guide your search for affordable housing. In addition, I suggest checking whether your bank has a branch in your new location. I've changed banks frequently during my travel assignments because certain banks/branches found in the northeastern part of the country are not present in the west or south coast and those ATM fees add up!

4. Explore Student Housing Options: Check if the university offers on-campus housing. The admissions office may also recommended neighborhoods, housing resources, and any assistance they can provide to incoming students.
If not, research popular off-campus housing options preferred by previous students, considering factors like safety and proximity.

5. Connect with Current Students: Reach out to current students at the university through social media or forums. They can offer firsthand experiences and recommendations regarding living areas for students.
