One Valuable Lesson Learned

End of the Semester Lesson ✏️

Hey friends,

Welcome to todays newsletter! As we are beginning to wrap up the fall semester, I figured I'd share a valuable lesson I learned along the way. Lets dive into it!

Teamwork Makes the Dreams Work

I remember when I was in nursing school, students tended to stick to their own circles
and they only collaborated with students inside their own group. The environment felt competitive, as if each group was striving to do better than the others. Often times some students saw great pride if they found out they got the highest grade.

Thankfully in CRNA school things are much different. Our class developed a collaborative teamwork strategy since week 1. Everyone wants everyone to pass. We initiated varies forms of communication including WhatsApp group chat, Imessage group chat, and a Facebook group. We share all sorts of stuff such as helpful APA formatting tips from PERRLA, educational anesthesia content from OpenAnesthesia, interesting youtube videos from NYSORA and other online resources to help us out with gas laws calculations. We have study sessions for upcoming tests and we help each other grasp concepts more quickly and effectively by coming up with catchy acronyms.

One of the biggest takeaways about working together as a class is the amount of time saved. As we get older, we have newer responsibilities. Rather than being constantly overwhelmed and consumed on academic responsibilities, the teamwork strategy has opened up room for personal and social activities. Together, we converted time from being a potential stressor into a valuable resource.

In fact, working together allows us to inspire each other to accomplish tasks solely through presence alone, creating a concept known as relational energy 👇
